“Where there is no wine, there is no love”. Mark those words by Euripides cause it is highly unlikely that you won’ t love this journey. Discover wineries filled with savoury flavours and embrace viticulture as we sail throughout Northern Greece. Experience the crystal clear waters of Chalkidiki that will definitely calm your mind and put your soul at ease. This is a voyage through senses and aesthetics. Join us, will you?
Explore the beautiful Ktima Gerovassiliou. Together, we will take a walk around the vineyard and we will learn about the ageing process. As we face Mount Olympus, we will taste some of their multiple award-winning wines, that exhibit the distinctive characteristics of the terroir of Epanomi. The winery holds a surprise for you. Let’ s just say the word museum is an understatement for what you are about to experience.
See first-hand the wonderful art of grape harvesting and take in the methods of wine production at the largest single organic domaine of Greece. Wonder through the vineyard and make sure to have a stop at the top of Mount Meliton-the view of the Northern Sporades will absolutely amaze you. Kellifos, or turtle island as it is called by the natives, awaits! Swim in its crystal clear blue waters or snorkel and explore its magnificent underwater landscape. This place is a home for octopuses, seahorses, starfish and all kinds of adorable sea creatures.
We set sail for the other side of the second peninsula. Our captain knows his way to a secret beach or two… Of course, we won’ t miss out visiting the famous Tigania beach with its large rocks that shape two gorgeous turquoise water coves. The wild and remote landscape offers exactly what you are dreaming of: a day of swimming, sunbathing at clean golden sand and laying under pine trees!. After sailing 15 nautical miles we will reach our next port, we will drop anchor for the night and dinner will be served.
We sail 17 NM north towards the islet of Diaporos. On our way, we stop at the very charming Portokali beach to enjoy its unique light and dark blue waters and relax upon its white rocks and hilly slopes. Diaporos is an astonishing, unexploited island protected against strong winds, which makes it a perfect shelter for yachts and of course, your leisure. Did we mention there is a natural swimming pool involved? Tonight we dine at the beach!
It is unlikely that you haven’ t snorkelled yet in this journey, but if this is the case you simply cannot miss this spot. Surrounded by several small islands that serve as a barrier from the waves and the wind, this vivid aquamarine coloured lagoon called Drenia, will make you think you are at the height of bliss! Absorb moments of serenity at small coves, swim along with colourful sea creatures, be grateful for life. We got you covered.
Take a tour at the atmospheric underground wine cellar-vault of Claudia Papayianni and try some of the domaine’ s most special greek wines. We will be having interesting conversations about vinification and we will pick up the different ways of wine bottling. Has your oenophilia grown even bigger? Let’ s discuss it over tonight’ s dinner at a great local seafood restaurant.
Spend your morning sailing 30 NM through the Northern Aegean Sea to the picturesque Sarti. Needless to say, swim stops are more than welcome.
